Aluminum Plates/Coils

Aluminum plate is a rectangular sheet material rolled from aluminum ingots. It can be classified by thickness into thin plates and medium-thick plates, by composition into pure aluminum plates and alloy aluminum plates, and by surface into patterned plates, etc. It has low density, good corrosion resistance, and excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, and is widely used in building decoration (curtain walls, ceilings), electronic product casings, furniture, automobiles, aerospace, mechanical parts, and many other applications.

Classification and Characteristics of Aluminum Plates

By type: Pure aluminum plates, alloy aluminum plates (such as 6061, 7075 series), patterned aluminum plates.

By processing method: Cold-rolled plates and hot-rolled plates.

By thickness:  Materials from 0.2mm to less than 500mm thick are usually called aluminum plates; thinner materials are called aluminum foil, and thicker materials are called aluminum sheets.

Main advantages:

Lightweight: Low density, approximately 1/3 that of iron.

Easy to process: Strong plasticity, easy to bend and cut.

Corrosion resistant: Good weather resistance.

Good electrical and thermal conductivity: Second only to gold, silver, and copper.

Rich surface options: Can be treated with various coatings and surface treatments (such as anodizing).

Common Aluminum Alloy Series:

1000 series (pure aluminum): such as 1060, commonly used in architectural decoration.

3000 series (aluminum-manganese alloy): such as 3003/3004, good corrosion resistance, used in decoration and construction.

5000 series (aluminum-magnesium alloy): such as 5052, corrosion-resistant and high-strength, used in ships and aircraft fuel tanks.

6000 series (aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy): such as 6061, high strength and corrosion resistance, used in aerospace and hardware.

7000 series (aluminum-zinc alloy): such as 7075, super-hard aluminum, used in aerospace structural components and molds.
